Gaza, June 27, 2009 (Ramattan) A Palestinian child died of wounds he sustained during Israel's 22-day offensive on Gaza while he was at an Egyptian hospital, Palestinian medical sources reported on Saturday.

The sources added that the Ali Qarmoot was seriously injured during the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip four months ago. He was transferred to receive medical care in Egypt.

The death toll of Palestinian victims of the war after the offensive was stopped has risen to more than 38, according to medical sources.

Around 1,455 Palestinian citizens were killed by the Israeli occupation forces during the war launched against Gaza on 27 December. A third of them were children and women.
